You can buy a terrific ski in ski out condo at Le Chamois for around $300,000.   This is an excellent price for a condo where you can walk outside and jump on the ski lift.

The condo properties below, and their location within Whistler, are true ski-in and ski-out.  In each property description, I have explained how close they are to the slopes.  Each Phase 1 property below is also zoned for nightly rental.

1. Whistler Village 

CARLTON LODGE, 4290 Mountain Square, Whistler Village.

carelton_with_full_addressThe Carlton Lodge: has an amazing location at the base of the mountain where Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains meet in Whistler Village.  From this location is the Whistler Gondola and the Blackcomb Gondola located across Mountain Square from the Lodge. The views facing up the mountain are fantastic. The building has underground parking and has a small condo strata.  It is zoned for nightly rental which can be managed through the front desk of the Sundial Lodge, or through another management company.  Built in 1982, the property has 1-3 bedroom suites, 32 units and is zoned for nightly rental.

“The Carlton Lodge is located above the Longhorn pub which is an iconic pub and apres ski favourite.  Therefore, it is very noisy, especially when the pub empties in the wee, early hours.  The pub has a huge outdoor patio so the noise off that will also resonate upwards.  Mountain Square is a major outdoor venue for great concerts, and events, for example, the World Ski and Snowboard Festival. This is a location I would recommend if you are going to be out enjoying the night life and want to be part of the action with the rest of those staying in Whistler Village.” – Marion.

 2. Benchlands 

ASPENS, 4800 Spearhead Drive, Benchlands.

Aspens: True ski-in ski-out condominium complex located literally on the slopes of Blackcomb Mountain.  The Aspens is one of the best locations in the Benchlands offering a front desk, underground parking, 3 outdoor hot tubs, exercise room and a large outdoor heated pool.  Architectural plans of the building show you the location of each of the listings.Built in 1993, the property has 1-2 bedroom suites, 233 units and is zoned for nightly rental.

“The groomers do a great job of moving snow around on these lower slopes so that the properties located on Blackcomb Mountain remain a true ski-in and ski-out even if the snow has started to disappear from the lower slopes during Spring.  Free village bus service, and from this location it is a very short walk down the slope to the upper village. This is the closest condo building to the upper village, land marked by the Fairmont Chateau Whistler.” – Marion

GREYSTONE LODGE, 4905 Spearhead Place, Benchlands.

greystone_with_addressGreystone: Fabulous ski in ski out location on Blackcomb Mountain…ski along a short trail and then take your skis or board off and walk into the Greystone Lodge and the ski locker room. Each condo has its own ski/board locker. Two hot tubs, one indoor and one outdoor, a heated, year-round outdoor swimming pool, ski/bike storage and secured underground parking.  The Lodge is on the bus route for free village shuttle.   Built in 1989, the property has 1-2.5 bedroom suites, 51 units and is zoned for nightly rental.

Like the Aspens, the Greystone Lodge is a 100% true, ski-in and ski-out property.  Slightly higher up than the Aspens, you may be relying on the bus rather than walking down the slopes and into the village…although there is a short-cut above the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, rather than following the road down to the village.” – Marion.

LE CHAMOIS, 4557 Blackcomb Way, Benchlands.

Le_Chamois_addressLe Chamois: This is a ski in ski out property right next to the Blackcomb day lodge and steps away form the Wizard Express. Le Chamois has spacious suites which enjoy superb views of Blackcomb Mountain or of Rainbow Mountain from west side of the building.  The property has a front desk, outdoor hot tube & swimming pool, bike/ski locker, exercise room, underground parking and shared laundry facilities.  Some of the original units may still have a hot tub in the room.   Built in 1989, the property has studios to 4 bedroom suites, 62 units and is zoned for nightly rental.

Very close to the slopes, that I would call it a true ski in ski out property. It is closer than its neighbour, Glacier Lodge and that one is called a ski in ski out. Property by most Whistler realtors.   Le Chamois has a restaurant, La Rua on the ground floor but this area of the Benchlands, called the Upper Village is typically a quiet neighbourhood at night.  Most visitors wanting action are staying in the Village.  In summer there is an excellent Farmer’s Market and the Base of Blackcomb Activity Centre are both outside of Le Chamois.  It is a very easy walk from the Upper Village along the trail to the village, it is well lit and is cleared of snow daily. The will show you the location of each of the units within Le Chamois.” – Marion

WOODRUN, 4910 Spearhead Place, Benchlands. 

Woodrun_4910_addressWoodrun:  is another true ski-in ski-out location with a heated walk-way right to the ski slopes on Blackcomb Mountain. It is also a concrete building which is the best build for noise reduction. Amenities include front desk service, heated outdoor pool and hot tubs, fitness centre, ski and bike storage, secure underground parking and an outdoor BBQ area.  Built in 1991, property has 1.5-3.5 bedroom suites, 85 units, and is zoned for nightly rental.

The Woodrun is a hidden gem as it is hidden off the main road.  It is a true ski-in ski-out, just like Aspens and Greystone Lodge.  The Woodrun is further up the hill than the Greystone Lodge, and the Aspens.  So taking the free bus service to and from the village would be advisable, however it is really not a far walk to the village.” – Marion

3. Whistler Creekside

FTL_with_addressFirst Tracks Lodge: These well positioned, true ski in ski out, luxury condominiums are located in Creekside at the base of Whistler Mountain just steps away from the Whistler Creekside Gondola   A newer building, there are individual ski lockers, in-suite personal storage lockers for your belongings should you decide to take advantage of renting out the condo nightly.  There is an impressive, large lobby concierge service, outdoor pool, two hot tub, fully equipped exercise/gym, owner ski/board locker, and underground parking.  Ski school, guest services and a ski store are all within easy walking distance of this property. Built in 2002, property has 1-4 bedroom suites, 85 units and is zoned for nightly rental. Strata fees include phone, gas, hydro, and cable.

A lot of buyers who are very familiar with Whistler prefer Whistler Creekside to the Village.  It has a great grocery store, liquor store, restaurants and bars, without the excitement and noise of the Village.  There is an excellent bus service from the village to Creekside, so you can easily end up in the village at the end of the day, and then get the bus to Creekside.  Dusty’s is the après bar of choice in this area and it is across the plaza from the Lodge, so there may be some noise at night when the bar empties.  In addition, the snow guns, located near the base are operational from the moment it is cold enough to make snow.  Homeowner pets are allowed with restrictions.” – Marion
